If you are a tab collector like me and like to have several tabs open simultaneously on your Chrome this little hack will definitely be of great help. I used to (and still do) rely on the services of the popular Chrome extension OneTab to organize and declutter my tabs. However, a few months ago Chrome introduced a new built-in feature called tab groups which is way better and more effective in managing and organizing Chrome tabs.
Tab groups allows you to organize your opened tabs into groups which you can label with a custom name and color. You can, for instance, create topic-based groups where you sort your tabs into topics you are interested in. Alternatively, you can group tabs “by how urgent they are– “ASAP,” “this week” and “later.” Similarly, tab groups can help keep track of your progress on certain tasks: “haven’t started,” “in progress,” “need to follow up” and “completed.” You can even use emojis instead of group names.And yes all your groups are saved and can be accessed when your re-open Chrome.
