Educational Technology and Mobile Learning (ETML) is a blog owned and operated by Med Kharbach. Dr. Kharbach holds a PhD in educational studies from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Canada. He was also a K-12 teacher with over 12 years of classroom teaching experience.
I launched ETML in 2010 with the purpose of helping my fellow EFL (English as Foreign Language) teachers integrate technology in English language teaching. Fast forward to 2022, ETML became among the top EdTech blogs with over 7000 published blog posts. ETML has been referenced in a wide variety of academic research journals, books, and news outlets including the New York Times, Huffpost.com, Hubspot.com, among others.
I strongly believe in the potential of educational technology in transforming the way we learn and teach and I want to help, as much as I can, towards making this transformative power of technology a lived reality in our classrooms and beyond. My goal is to help teachers, educators, students, and parents make the best of educational technology by providing them with quality EdTech resources and recommendations.
I also own another blog, selectedreads.com, where I share book recommendations, summaries, and reviews.
Apart from educational technology, my other academic research interests as a scholar include: curriculum studies, discourse analysis, language learning/teaching, language and identity, new (emerging) literacies, and research methodologies. I have presented in numerous national and international conferences and have published in different academic peer reviewed journals including:
- Discourse & Communication
- Discourse & Society
- Journal of the Canadian Association for Curriculum Studies
- Antistasis (University of New Brunswick, Canada)
- Journal of the International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies
My professional affiliations include:
- The International Society for Research on Identity
- Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE)
- Canadian Committee of Graduate Students in Education (CCGSE)
- Canadian Association for Curriculum Studies (CACS)
- Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security, and Society .
You can find an overview of my academic publications on these platforms: ResearchGate, LinkedIn, ORCID, and Google Scholar.
